Groundfloor was founded to open up access to real estate investment opportunities to everyone regardless of wealth or financial status, and over 175,000 everyday investors are already taking advantage of the high returns and low risk profile our investment products deliver. As demand for these alternative investments grows, we’re pleased to also welcome international investors to the Groundfloor platform.
The first step to signing up for a Groundfloor account from abroad is to register for an account. You will be prompted to choose whether you want to sign up as an individual or as a business entity (for more information about investing with a business account, please visit this blog post). You will also need to choose your country of residence from the dropdown menu.
Once you have filled out these sections, click “Continue” to fill out your personal information and finish setting up your account.
Once you have created your account, you will need to add funds to it. For international investors, you will need to send investment funds via wire transfer. The minimum balance we require to open your Groundfloor account is $5,000 USD. To wire over your funds, please email our support team at support@groundfloor.us and they will provide all the relevant information required.
Once your funds have landed in your account, it’s time to begin investing! You can browse through dozens of active projects across the United States and decide which projects to add to your portfolio, $10 at a time. For a more detailed walkthrough of how to invest on our platform, check out our beginner’s guide to investing through Groundfloor.
When you are ready to withdraw funds from your account, you will need to again reach out to our support team at support@groundfloor.us so we can set up a wire transfer to your bank account. Please note that wire fees will be deducted for requests less than $1,000.
